Foraging the city!

Yes !!!! There is a lot of greenery around the farm in the near standing park Waterwin and close to the train station Terwijde. We will walk around to find these plants and collect them.

During the walk you will learn together with expert Bart van Weerden to know the edible plants surrounding our neighborhood. Plants growing on the side walk may be a big font of minerals and historically used in our kitchens till we became completely dependent on shopping. Maybe we will find some Fruits ? Vegetables ? Herbs ? Nuts ? Come along for an afternoon of harvesting, cooking and chatting with us. The activity is free of charge.

A group of artists from The Outsiders Union, together with Casco, have opened up the old Terwijde farmhouse in Utrecht’s Leidsche Rijn area and transformed it into a new commons! The farmhouse is now open for your visit and you are welcomed to make use of it for collaborative or autonomous activities. 30 Maart van 14:00 tot 21:00 Pizza Expres met muziek van Bankra bike system: De pizza expres maakt expres extra lekkere pizza’s uit een eigen gebouwde mobiele pizzaoven. Niet voor álle feesten en partijen maar, natuurlijk expres, alleen voor de leuke. U kunt kiezen uit drie verschillende pizza’s. Het precieze menu zal nog bekend gemaakt worden aangezien de pizza expres pizza’s maakt met wat er op dat moment voor handen is. U kunt de pizza opeten op locatie of afhalen, alleen of met vrienden. Take a picture in nature!

Op zaterdag 26 mei om 14.00 – 17.30 uur organiseert het Center for Ecological (Un)learning (CEU) bij de boerderij in het Winkelcentrum Terwijde een workshop over foto’s maken in de natuur. CEU is een gezamenlijk initiatief van The Outsiders en Casco, waarmee zij willen bouwen aan een nieuwe institutionele praktijk op het gebied van ecologie en kunst. Hun eerste project is Erfgoed (Agricultural Heritage and Land Use) dat plaatsvindt op en rond Hof ter Weyde, een monumentale boerderij middenin Leidsche Rijn. De thema van de fotoworkshop is de relatie tussen de mens en natuur. Het programma is tweedelig. Wij beginnen met een instructiesess ie. Vervolgens gaan wij samen een wandeling in onze buurt maken om de theorie in praktijk te brengen. Iedereen is welkom. Families kunnen een creatieve middag van maken. Ouders met kinderen of grootouders met kleinkinderen kunnen hun omgeving samen ontdekken. Mensen die hulpmiddelen gebruiken om zich te verplaatsen of speciale aandacht...
